Bridge House

Bridging the Gap offers Transitional Housing for Youth in Halton who are between 16-24 years of age.

Potential residents of the Bridge House program must complete an application and interview process to determine their ability to live cooperatively with peers under minimal supervision. Youth are not permitted to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol while on site and youth who are experiencing active substance abuse/addiction will be referred to a more appropriate program as necessary. The Bridge House program provides off site staff support during the two year period to assist youth in learning essential life skills and achieving their personal goals.

Residents are responsible for a monthly program fee which includes utilities, cable, internet and furnishings. The program fee may be paid from Ontario Works, OSAP or employment earnings. Homes come equipped with laundry facilities onsite and access to computers. Residents are required to purchase their own food and basic needs.

Residents MUST be involved in a 30 hour per week participation plan which can be a combination of school, work, volunteering and/or counselling. A Transitional Youth Worker meets regularly with residents to evaluate their progress towards achieving their goals and to address any concerns or support they may need while residing within the home.
